Blue Apron: Brown Butter and Thyme Gnocchi

If you’re a fan of:

  • Pasta
  • Chard
  • Mushrooms
  • Brown butter
  • Thyme
  • & Corn

… then this dish is for you.

To me, this was the most unhealthy of all three Blue Apron meals, but it ironically had the lowest calories. I never use butter in my recipes, and I also try to avoid corn due to GMOs.

Another callout on this meal was that Blue Apron sent me a different type of mushroom than was on the recipe card due to availability. I’m not sure how much this affected the taste because I’m not a mushroom fan – I can handle them in a sauce but beyond that, no thanks.

Overall, this was my least favorite meal (as you might have guessed already), but I might be a bit of a biased judge. 

It photographs well though, right?

  1. It does photograph really well! In general, I’m not a big fan of Blue Apron’s pasta meals. I don’t know what it is, but overall, I think they’re just not as fresh and certainly less healthy. Looking forward to your full review!
